Recipe: Cranberry-Apple Smoothie

This fall smoothie pairs sweet apples with tart cranberries. This makes for a healthy, fiber-filled snack drink. It’s high in calcium, yet low in sodium and calories. Serve with cut-up carrots and celery for a quick and easy after-school snack.

Serving size: 2 cups
Ingredients
- 1 medium sweet apple, such as Honeycrisp, chopped
- 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup frozen cranberries
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons honey
- Optional: 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine apple, yogurt, cranberries, water, honey and cinnamon in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Add more cinnamon, if desired.
- Serve immediately. Promptly refrigerate any leftovers.
